Former Agfa-Geveart Group executive and long time, well respected imaging industry veteran Hans G. Kuhlmann passed away late last month after a brief illness following recent surgery.

At the beginning of the last decade, Kuhlmann retired following a 40-year career with the Agfa-Geveart Group, culminating with a term as president of the Consumer Imaging Division of Agfa Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary. Under his direction, the company increased its strength and market share in several arenas, including wholesale photofinishing equipment, independent photo specialty and professional markets. While focusing on the diversification of the industry, Kuhlmann helped Agfa expand its manufacturing, facilities in the U.S.A. and establish itself as a market leader in providing private-label consumer film.

He also received the PMA Distinguished Service Award in 2000. Kuhlmann was 72.
