The 6Sight Conference, set for Monterey, California on November 8-9, has announced an impressive line-up of speakers and sessions for this year’s event. The Opening Keynote features  John Loiacono, Sr. Vice President, Adobe Creative Solutions Business Unit.   Loiacono is responsible for the development, delivery and marketing of Adobe’s entire creative software portfolio, including flagship brands such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Dreamweaver.

“The photography industry has undergone the biggest transformation in history and the reality is it’s not over yet. Our continued success relies on the ability for companies to innovate, take risks with technology and seek out new opportunities for growth. It’s exciting to be a part of the 6Sight conference that unites the industry’s best leaders and provides a forum for discussion around how we can all push the limits of the digital image,” Loiacono recently said.

The opening day keynote will be followed by a session titled: Resolution, Dynamic Range and Sensitivity – What developments should we expect in the next few years with respect to the three key measures of digital image capture? This session will include demonstrations of leading edge technologies, expert user perspectives and multi-disciplinary panel discussion. Speakers include Mikkel Aaland, Photographer and Author; Bill Crow, Principal Program Manager, HD Photo, Microsoft Corporation; Liz Cutting, Industry Analyst, The NPD Group; Mike McNamara, Executive Technology Editor, Popular Photography & Imaging Magazine; David Pedersen, Vice President Corporate Marketing, Zoran; and others to be announced.

The first day will also include a session titled: Visual Recollection – What is the status of technologies that will automatically annotate our images with information about who is in them and where they were taken? This session will examine leading edge technologies to detect and analyze faces in images. Speakers will include: Marian Stewart Bartlett, Ph.D., Associate Research Professor at the Institute for Neural Computation, UCSD and co-director of the Machine Perception Lab; Alexandru Drimbarean, Imaging Research Manager, FotoNation; Ariel Shamir, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer at the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science, The Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, Israel and Visiting Scientist, Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories; and Eric Zarakov, Vice President, Marketing, FotoNation    

The Opening Keynote on Day Two (Nov. 9) will be Philippe Kahn, CEO, Fullpower Technologies, Inc.  Known to many as “the father of the camera-phone,” Kahn ‘s address is titled “Three Billion Camera-Phones Later: The Instant Visual Revolution.”

Add the a Day Two Analyst Roundtable titled: What is the #1 imaging opportunity and/or challenge in the imaging industry between today and 2010? And you clearly have a conference that is touching on some of the imaging industry’s hottest and most complicated issues.
