The International Photographic Council (IPC), a non-governmental organization (NGO) of the United Nations, has announced the recipient of its 2007 IPC Award of Excellence: the Professional School Photographers Association (PSPA). The association will be recognized during an awards luncheon in the Delegate’s Dining Room at the United Nations in New York City on Thursday, November 8th at 11:30 a.m. Robert Kerr, President of Royal Photographics and 2007/2008 PSPA President, will accept the award on behalf of the PSPA. Ken Strawbridge, President of Photo Marketing Association International (PMAI), is scheduled to be the keynote speaker. A display will showcase outstanding work in the school photography industry.

The IPC Award of Excellence was established to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of photography, especially in the areas of human relations and international communications and cooperation. It joins two existing award programs currently sponsored by the organization, the IPC Hall of Fame Award and the IPC Leadership Award, both of which recognize excellence and contributions to the photo industry.

Luncheon reservations are due by October 26, 2007. Tickets are $100 per person and seating is limited. For information, contact Priscilla Chu at 631-845-2700, X 341. E-mail: HYPERLINK “mailto:priscilla.chu@cygnuspub.com” priscilla.chu@cygnuspub.com.
