No one’s perfect. But sometimes it’s nice to put your best face forward in a photo without having to worry about embarrassing blemishes, blotchy skin or red-eye. Now, PicTreat.com makes it fast and easy to instantly retouch any photograph for a more beautiful picture that lets your true inner beauty shine through.

“Everyone wants to look their best in a photo, but many people don’t have the software, expertise or time it takes to manually retouch photos,” said Alex Konoplev, CEO of Tel Aviv, Israel-based Luxand, makers of the proprietary face detection technology that powers PicTreat.com. “PicTreat.com does it all automatically, in a matter of seconds, with any photograph provided.”

With a single click, PicTreat.com removes unsightly skin flaws, like blotchiness and blemishes, removes red-eye and auto-corrects the image color to produce the best photo.  PicTreat.com makes photo corrections instantly-and, it’s completely free. No registration is required.

The site works with any size photo at any resolution, and the real target audience is all those “look at me” folks on social media sites who can never seem to find the perfect profile pic. PicTreat.com integrates with MySpace and Facebook to allow users to pull images from their online albums, treat them with PicTreat.com and upload them back to their MySpace or Facebook page. PicTreat.com is also available as an app for the iPhone.

We recently tested the site  and were impressed with the results. We also caught up with Luxand CEO Alex Konoplev to find out a bit more about the future of PicTreat

PB&ML: Is the PicTreat service something that you plan on offering to imaging retailers?

Konoplev: Definitely. Right now retailers can either manually process high-res photos on our site (200 photos/$39) or use our API programmatically.

PB&ML: Is the basic idea here to get consumers to print or just to clean up images for sharing online?

Konoplev: Images for online sharing are generated for free. Users who are interested in fine print resolution are required to pay a small fee. Payment plans can be found here.

PB&ML: We’ve only tested the site briefly doing a few samples – is there a fee involved if you want the new files sent to you?

Konoplev: A fee is involved for processing high-resolution images suitable for printing. For all web needs, PicTreat is 100% free.
