Panasonic asserts that their 12.2 megapixel Lumix DMC-FX100 holds the title of the world’s first digital camera with a 28mm wide-angle zoom lens. The Leica DC lens, created especially for the DMC-FX100, features 3.6x optical zoom, f/2.8 brightness, 1/1.72-inch large CCD and Intelligent Image Stabilization. The camera is designed with 16:9 high definition displays in mind, capturing still images at 1920 x 1080 and video at 1280 x 720 at 15 frames per second. The Lumix DMC-FX100, which will also be available in silver and black, debuts in July 2007 for a price point yet to be announced.
