According to online mobile news site G News Service, researchers are experimenting on ways to harvest free energy through motion and the environment, which could lead to devices such as mobile phones that can be recharged without electricity. A company called GotWind has experimented with charging laptops and other mobile devices through solar power, foot pedal and pull-string. Nokia recently released a kit that draws energy from cycling to recharge phones.
GotWind said it would also demonstrate boots that recharge mobile phones through energy derived while walking. While the GotWind devices are experimental at this stage, a company called Tremont Electric is already selling a device that captures energy from running or walking to recharge mobile devices
