Sony is readying new devices meant to compete with Apple's popular iPhone as well as the new iPad, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
A Sony source told the paper that the new lineup of products includes a smartphone, developed in conjunction with Sony Ericsson, that works as a gaming device, as well as a netbook/e-reader/gaming hybrid that will compete with the iPad and other upcoming tablet devices.
The company already had been working on a new online platform that will compete with iTunes.
