The Droid smartphone, already the subject of a high-profile advertising campaign that takes direct aim at Apple, got official pricing and a release date Wednesday. The product will be available Nov. 6 and sell for $199.99 with a two-year contract.
The Droid is made by Motorola and runs the Google Android operating system; it will be carried by Verizon Wireless in the U.S., in a first for Android products.
The product advertises several features- including the ability to run multiple applications, take pictures in the dark, and more- that the iPhone likes.
