In August 2007, Nikon introduced the Coolpix L14 into its Life family of digital cameras. Billed the ideal companion to capture all of life’s moments, the user-friendly camera combines easy operation with Nikon’s latest in imaging technology (for 2007) at a very affordable price.

Plus, the value-conscious 7-megapixel L14 lets you capture 1,000 shots on a single pair of Lithium AA batteries. That’s the most of any camera in its class at the time. It also offers an enhanced face recognition function able to recognize five separate faces. Additionally, the L14 features In-Camera Red-Eye Fix technology, an innovation that automatically corrects red-eye. Scenes with poor backlight or underexposed faces are also corrected in-camera with its D-Lighting function.

After activating these functions or shooting in one of 15 scene modes, the camera’s original settings are easily restored through its easy auto mode. Further, for composing and displaying images, the L14 has a bright 2.4-inch LCD screen.

The camera uses a 3x optical zoom, 38–114mm Nikkor lens and sensitivities up to ISO 1000. Other features include macro shooting from 3.9 inches; a 4x digital zoom function; a time zoom function; 23MB of internal memory; USB connectivity; as well as SDHC card and PictBridge compatibility.
