Poway, CA—Delkin Devices launched a brand-new line of Delkin Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards. The new cards feature pSLC flash (pseudo SLC). The company is a manufacturer of flash storage solutions and camera accessories.

“NAND flash is a nonvolatile memory chip that can hold data even without power, and it is the heart of all memory cards,” Delkin announced, explaining the benefits of pSLC flash memory. “Manufacturers have tried to make it more dense and smaller in order to store more data for less money. But the ultimate result is a reduction in longevity and performance. This is quite the opposite of what is good for NAND memory cards. Photographers and videographers need to store photos and videos quickly, yet on a robust card that has longevity. Delkin-Black-cfExpress-type-B-4-package

“SLC flash is the most rugged and expensive type of flash due to its incredible endurance and performance. Although its biggest downside is high cost and relatively small capacity size. The latest version of SLC that keeps the longevity, but improves the capacity (and price), is called pSLC (pseudo SLC). This is what Delkin uses in our line of Black CFexpress Type B 4.0.”

The company also uses pSLC in Delkin SD Black Rugged V90 memory cards.

Moreover, pSLC can read twice as fast as TLC (triple-level cell) or even QLC (quad-level cell), which is used by most card makers. In addition, it can also be written up to six times as fast. Further, pSLC has a life span between 7,000 and 28,000 TBW (terabytes written) depending on card capacity. In comparison, other flash types support 300 to 2,000 TBW before they begin to lose data and slow down. Delkin-Devices-1.3TB-BLACK-4.0-CFexpress-Type-B-1.3TB

What’s more, Delkin engineers its new Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards to provide reliability, performance and endurance. They also generate less heat, as they program faster. pSLC uses a third of the NAND in the card and in all cases has more chips and blocks available. For example, a 4TB card is used to build a 1.3TB capacity Black card. The added flash offers more spare blocks, as well as better management to keep the card working.

Delkin Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards come in versions from 256GB capacities to 1.3TB. They range in price from $179.99 to $849.99. The cards feature 3530–3650 MB/s maximum read speeds as well as 3230–3250 MB/s max write speeds. In addition, Delkin offers them with a lifetime warranty.
