Irvine, CA—Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America added two features to its CP-D70DW and CP-D707DW event printers: a super fine matte finish and super fine print mode.

“Super fine print produces stunning studio-quality photos by increasing the optical density of the photograph for more contrast and visual depth,” said James Chan, vice president, Marketing, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America. “And the new super fine matte mimics the traditional finish of matte photo paper for studio-quality prints anywhere, anytime.”

“The new super fine print mode slows the line rate of the printhead to apply the ink more precisely, resulting in sharper edges, better detail and crisper text,” added Brandon Tarnow, brand manager, MEVSA. “With traditional dye-sub photo printers, applying a matte finish increases wear on the printhead; Mitsubishi printheads have an applied protective film for added durability. And Mitsubishi media is equipped with a back-layer ink sheet that further protects against printhead wear.”

Mitsubishi combined the super fine matte upgrade with its recently announced 2×6-inch multi-cut upgrade, available for free via printer firmware and driver downloads on the Mitsubishi website.

The CP-D70DW is a full-featured event photo printer that weighs 27 pounds and creates a 4×6-inch high-quality photo in 8.4 seconds. The dual-deck CP-D707DW is one printer with two separate paper paths that can be loaded with two different sizes of paper, so it can print a variety of sizes at the same time or print the same size about 40% faster. Both printers produce photographs in 2×6-, 3.5×5-, 4×6-, 5×7- and 6×8-inch sizes and offer either a fine (high-speed) or a new super fine (high-res) print mode using standard media. mitsubishi-imaging.com
