Sony Electronics on Thursday announced the launch of a new marketing campaign for its DSLR cameras as well as its camcorders. The multi-platform campaign, which will involve print, street, in-theater, and online advertising, while featuring the cameras “tumbling” from a mountaintop.

A 60-second TV spot is scheduled to make its debut April 22, and will air during several popular network primetime shows, including “The Office,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Lost” and “E.R.”

A Web site associated with the campaign will launch next week at www.sony.com/tumble, and print ads are scheduled to debut in May. The campaign will also include billboard, subway, and other advertising in several major U.S. cities, and will have a major presence in Sony Style stores.

An extension of Sony’s “HDNA” marketing campaign, the “tumble” campaign is meant to showcase several new camera technologies, including the CyberShot’s Smile-Shutter technology, “face detection” in the Handycam HDR-SR11 camcorder, and the DSLR-A350’s “Live-View” technology.
