Consumers are in dire need of somewhere to put the billions of digital files they are collecting every year. The rising tide of photos, bookmarks, emails, music and video files are causing consumers to think about how to store all that digital information. According to WYNIT, this storage demand is developing a great sales opportunity for the company’s dealers nationwide. As a national distributor with a 20-year history of selling internationally branded products in the consumer electronics and digital photography markets, WYNIT feels they know a thing or two about storage trends.

The Consumer Electronics Association’s recent consumer research study ‘Amassing Digital Fortunes: A Digital Storage Study,’ states that U.S. online adults own an average of nearly 1,800 digital files each. That adds up to 310 billion nationwide. Moreover, most of those files are keepsakes if you ask each owner. The numbers are good for dealers who should use the information to ask every digital product buyer, ‘how are they going to save and organize files?’

According to Jay LaBarge, WYNIT’s vice president of marketing, this growing need to find economical ways to store digital material provides dealers with a great opportunity to make accessory sales. He noted that WYNIT has a wide variety of products from which dealers can choose. “Data storage, often simply called ‘storage’ or ‘memory,’ refers to computer components, devices and recording media that retain digital data long-term,” notes LaBarge. “Also, many double as DVRs, mp3 players, video players and more.”

Products are available to dealers from popular brands such as G-Technology, GrassValley, Iomega, SmartDisk/Verbatim, Simpletech, Western Digital and Wolverine Data.

In addition to external storage devices, LaBarge said WYNIT is a market leader in the distribution of flash media including Compactflash cards, Flashdrives, memory adapters, memory sticks, multimedia cards, secure digital cards and xD picture cards from popular brands including Fujifilm, Kingston, Lexar, Olympus, SanDisk, and Verbatim.
