Atlanta, GA—Imaging USA 2010, one of the largest conferences featuring professional photography classes, will include three days of intensive artistic and business education, January 16-18, 2011 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

“If photographers want to be profitable, they need a good combination of artistic and business skills,” said Louis Tonsmeire, president, Professional Photographers of America (PPA). “Imaging USA has the education, networking and opportunities to help photographers create that balance.”

Imaging USA is presented by an alliance of PPA, the Society of Sport and Event Photographers (SEP), Commercial Photographers International (CPI), the Stock Artists Alliance (SAA) and the Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC). Its educational track features a wide variety of classes for photographers who have been in business for years or those who are just starting out. The classes focus on different specialties and “tricks of the trade” geared toward improving business and photographic skills and use of technologies.

Class breaks will allow attendees to visit the Imaging Expo, a trade show where hundreds of the leading vendors showcase their products. “This trade show not only gives you a chance to hold new products in your hand and experience new services, but it also provides a great chance to develop face-to-face relationships with vendors,” added Tonsmeire.

Three days of in-depth preconvention photography courses are also offered for an additional fee—from classes on the business of photography to hands-on workshops that allow photographers to work with different pros, one at a time. Additionally, Imaging USA attendees can take classes for no additional fee at SEPCON, the colocated Sport and Event Photographers Conference.

Imaging USA 2011 also offers one of the largest annual photographic exhibits, which will feature over 2,100 images this year. The display is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.

Registration is open to all professional photographers; several options are available, including full-convention and one-day passes. A special promotion includes free full-convention registration for new professional active members who join PPA prior to the show. imagingUSA.org
