Go green, and go mobile. That’s the forecast from the CE distributor D&H Distributing on Monday named its list of “hot” technologies that it expects will capture the imaginations of consumers in 2008.

Leading the mobile categories, as they did this year, will be GPS, smart phones, mp3 players, and small PCs, and digital signage expected to make a big leap forward next year, D&H said in its announcement.

D&H saw GPS sales jump 77 percent in Q3/Q4 of 2007 over the same time the previous year, and expects that growth to continue. In addition, flat-panel TVs jumped 179 percent, DVRs rose 104 percent, while notebooks jumped 68 percent.

In addition, anything green is expected to continue its success in ‘08. One example listed by the distributor was the “GreenPower” storage hard drives from Western Digital, as well as Sharp’s Aquos LCD line of TVs, which are EnergyStar-compliant.
