As for the CES show floor, we were interested to see Pentax’ come to market with a new entry-level Optio digital camera, the 7-megapixel E30, that replaces the E10 and can capture up to 760 images, they tell us, when using lithium AA batteries. The camera also sports a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.4-inch LCD, 11MB of internal memory, and 15 scene modes.

Also of note, this model is part of the industry initiative dubbed the ImageLink Print System as it is compatible with Kodak printer docks. Nice to see this kind of compatibility among manufacturers and we hope to see more in the months ahead. The camera can also add frames to photos in-camera and capture VGA video. The Optio E30 ships in February for a suggested $149.
