As 2007 begins to wind down, we’re seeing more news on both the CES and PMA trade shows – keynote speakers, special events, educational tracks – lots of pre-show news enabling attendees to plan ahead. With both shows slated for January of 2008, it’s no surprise to see their annual pre-show press events have been announced and are right around the corner.
PMA has chosen October 18th, 2007 for their PMA 2008 Press Preview, taking place at the New York Helmsley Hotel, 212 East 42nd street. The preview is expected to run from 3-5 p.m. and will provide details on eth show’s 200-plus educational sessions, over 600 exhibitors, shoot-out competitions and the co-located MemoryTrends scrapbook event. PMA will also shed additional light on their partnership with Future Image Inc. and AIE and the hosting the 6Sight Future of Imaging executive conference. Check out www.pmai.org for more details.
The following month it’s CES’ turn, as on November 13, 2007 CEA will host their CES 2008 Preview Event at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 W. 18th street in New York. As is always the case, the event will feature the CES Unveiled Holiday Trends tabletop event along with the Best of innovations Honorees presentation.
The schedule plays out as follows:
3:30-4 p.m. – Holiday Sales and Trends, CEA Market Research, 5th Floor
4-5 p.m.- International CES Press Conference with Innovations Awards Announcement, 5th Floor
5-8 p.m.- CES Unveiled@NY Showcase and Networking Reception, 1st Floor
Both of these events provide an opportunity to a get a jump on covering these two important trade shows as well as a sneak peek at what organizers have planned for the 2008 editions.
