Hauppauge, NY—B+W Filter has extended its high-quality T-Pro filter line with the High Transmission Circular Polarizer HTC-Pol according to Käsemann. The company also announced new Master ND graduated filters.
“T-Pro filters are known for their lean product properties, turning the HTC-Pol into the thinnest polarizer made in Germany,” the company announced. “The unique titanium-finish completes the high-end product design.”
Moreover, thanks to a brass mount and premium MRC nano coating, B+W makes all T-Pro filters to last. They are scratch resistant as well as water, oil and dirt repellent. Based on this, B+W Filter offers a five-year warranty on this special filter line.
The Circular Polarizer HTC-Pol according to Käsemann offers high light transmission. Its filter factor is 2–3, which equals about 1 to 1.5 stops. This results in photos with a higher contrast and richer colors. Furthermore, the rotatable T-Pro brass mount makes it easier to spot unwanted reflections and to reduce them. While rotating, the polarizer’s effect is observed through the camera viewfinder or on its display.
Manufactured in Germany, the T-Pro High Transmission Circular Polarizer HTC-Pol is available in Ø37mm to 95mm. The company says they are also options for super-wide-angle or telephoto lenses and fit common camera systems.
B+W Master ND Graduated Filters
B+W Filter is also expanding its Master filter line with two ND graduated filters with a rotating holder for aligning the horizon gradient. The new filters replace the previous filters in its Basic line. Further, they have a more compact design and are narrower than the previous filters.
The gradient of the new filters also allows more control over the incidence of light. This enables photographers to optimize their images more effectively. In addition to the existing strengths (ND 0.3, ND 0.6), B+W is offering two additional strengths (ND 0.9, ND 1.2), making a total of four strengths available.
Following are the specs for each filter:
Filter Type Aperture Density Filter Factor Transmission
711: +1 ND 0.3 2x 50%
712: +2 ND 0.6 4x 25%
713: +3 ND 0.9 8x 12.5%
714: +4 ND 1.2 16x 6.3%
Furthermore, an additional improvement is the MRC nano coating, which is used instead of the previous MRC coating. This new coating enables better antireflection performance as well as easier cleaning of the filters.
The new ND graduated filters from B+W Filter are also manufactured in Germany. They will reach retail in November in diameters from 49mm to 82mm.
