Los Angeles, CA—DJI, a provider of civilian drones and camera technology, launched the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone. Crafted as the ultimate companion for adventure enthusiasts, the new drone boasts omnidirectional obstacle sensing and DJI’s flagship O4 video transmission technology.

Weighing under 8.8 ounces (249g), the drone is engineered for portability. Notably, its lightweight design also aligns with drone regulations in most countries and regions, granting you the freedom to take flight with almost no limitations.
DJI Mini 4 Pro Specs
The all-rounder drone employs a high-resolution, 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, a new image-processing platform as well as dual native ISO fusion. Further, it boasts an f/1.7 aperture, 48-megapixel image resolution, 4K/60-fps HDR video and slow-motion shooting at 4K/100 fps. Moreover, DJI embedded 2.4μm pixels and an enhanced noise reduction algorithm in night shots video mode for cleaner footage in low light.
Additionally, the drone offers true vertical shooting for social media posting and smartphone playback. A 60° large-angle tilt for camera motion also helps unleash cinematic possibilities. Furthermore, digital video zoom magnifies photos up to 2x and videos up to 4x.
What’s more, the drone enables professional-grade postproduction control with 10-bit D-Log M recording, granting access to more than a billion colors. Plus, HLG ensures natural colors and brightness remain true-to-life without adjustment or format conversion due to its high dynamic range. You can also preserve nuances with 48MP RAW and SmartPhoto technology. This is a fusion that harmonizes HDR imaging and scene recognition.
The Mini 4 Pro also enhances safety with omnidirectional obstacle sensing. It uses multiple wide-angle sensors and a pair of downward vision sensors to detect obstructions from all directions. Complemented by an Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS), the drone features automatic braking as well as obstacle bypass.
DJI also extended its flight time to 34 minutes, which you can further extend to 45 minutes using DJI’s Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. In addition, thanks to DJI’s flagship O4 video transmission, the drone offers responsive control and 1080p/60-fps video transmission up to 12.4 miles. Moreover, Waypoint Flight’s automatic route function minimizes operation fatigue with cruise control for long-distance flights. Of course, DJI’s advanced return-to-home system automatically navigates a safe flight route back. It’s facilitated by an AR RTH feature for more control during return flights.
Creative Shooting Functions
The Mini 4 Pro also provides three intuitive methods for capturing shots—Spotlight, Point of Interest and ActiveTrack 360°, which allows you to bypass obstacles and get more stable tracking thanks to omnidirectional obstacle sensing. However, the drone also offers creative features:
- MasterShots delivers dynamic camera movement templates tailored for portrait, close-up as well as long-range shots.
- QuickShots provides Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang and Asteroid modes for more stylish results.
- Hyperlapse offers Free, Waypoint, Circle and Course Lock modes with unlimited shooting time. It also supports compositing while shooting.
- Panorama supports shooting 180°, wide-angle, vertical and sphere panoramic photos for landscapes.
- QuickTransfer transfers photos and videos to your smartphone without linking the remote controller.
LightCut App
In addition, LightCut streamlines video editing via a wireless connection and AI technology. It enables one-tap generation of videos by merging ActiveTrack, MasterShots and QuickShots footage. The app also automates sound effect matching and template application for production, while preserving smartphone storage by eliminating the need to download footage.
Furthermore, its real-time sound effects enhance aerial creations, transitioning from “silent” to “vibrant.” There are also a variety of aerial shot templates, from nature to cityscape and tilt-shift effects. This allows for easier video creation by importing aerial footage.
Mini 4 Accessories
DJI is also making three accessories available to augment the Mini Pro 4’s experience. First, is the DJI Mini 4 Pro Wide-Angle Vision. You can capture vast landscapes through the super-wide 100° FoV of this wide-angle lens. Second, the Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set (ND16/64/256) lets you adapt to challenging lighting scenarios using ND16/64/256 filters. Lastly, the Mini 4 Pro 360° Propeller Guard enhances flight safety with complete coverage provided by the 360° propeller guard, which you can attach and detach.
