Hampstead, MD—Cokin and OmegaBrandess introduced the Cokin Nuances limited edition ND1024 Z-Pro (L) 100x100mm filter kit. Nuances neutral density (ND) filters are dedicated to long exposure outdoor photography or depth-of-field reduction, especially in filmmaking. The strongest density ND1024 filter allows a 10 f-stop reduction, catching the light “to create surreal images without color cast.”
Cokin is making the filter available in a limited edition kit for the Z-Pro series (L) only. The kit includes the ND1024 filter; a Z-Pro (L) filter holder with foam mask; four adapter rings, 67, 72, 77 and 82mm; and a soft filter case.
The company has developed a new coating process to ensure a uniform coloration. A nano-metallic alloy is applied on both sides of a highly resistant tempered Schott Glass B270, known for its high transmittance and low reflection. It was developed to produce neutrality completely free of infrared pollution, and it allows multiple Nuances filters to be stacked without color cast.
Cokin Nuances Densities
Cokin Nuances filters are available in six different densities: ND2, ND4, ND8, ND32, ND256 and also ND1024. The filters are designed to fit Cokin’s range of Creative filter holders, from M to XL sizes. ND32 or above filters in L and XL sizes come with a foam mask to be inserted between the filter and the filter holder, preventing light leaks. In addition, the L size is compatible with standard matte boxes using 4×4-inch (100x100mm) filters. Nuances filters can also be combined with other filters from the Creative filter range for unlimited creativity.
Cokin is named for its founder, Jean Coquin, a famous French photographer of the 1970s. Furthermore, Cokin is the inventor of the Creative Filter System, constituting an adapter ring plus filter holder plus filters.
