Melville, NY—Amid a host of new camera introductions, Nikon unveiled its latest waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof point-and-shoot models, the Coolpix AW130 and Coolpix S33. Both are designed to capture images and Full HD video under extreme conditions.

Coolpix AW130. With a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor to capture photos and Full HD 1080p video, the AW130 is waterproof to 100 feet, shockproof to withstand a 7-foot fall, and freezeproof to 14º F. The AW130 also provides a 3-inch, 921K-dot OLED display, a 5x optical zoom Nikkor ED glass lens (24–120mm f/2.8 max aperture) with 10x dynamic fine zoom, updated ergonomics and a new design. For easy operation in nearly any situation, its action control function enables users to adjust camera settings with the flick of a wrist—even with gloves on.
Other active lifestyle features include built-in GPS, an electronic compass, and maps and POI (points of interest) technology, which allow users to record the longitude and latitude of where any image was captured. The AW130 is also compatible with Nikon Snapbridge, which enables users to remotely shoot the camera and share photos and videos from the camera to a compatible smartphone or tablet via built-in Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Coolpix S33. Geared for families, this entry-level P&S is waterproof to 33 feet, shockproof up to 5 feet and freezeproof to 14º F. It offers an easy-to-use interface and dedicated one-touch buttons for simple operation. The S33 features a 13.2MP CMOS sensor, a 3x zoom lens, a dedicated movie button to record 1080p Full HD video, and 16 creative styles and effects, including underwater face detection and an option to shoot videos with miniature effect.
