Panasonic built the new L-mount prime lens for portability, with a thin and lightweight body that fits into a pocket. It boasts an overall length that is less than an inch as well as a weight of approximately 0.13 pound. Moreover, with an 80º angle of view, the new lens is constructed of five elements in five groups. This includes a UED element (ultra extra-low dispersion) to reduce ghosting and lens flare.

The new Panasonic Lumix S 26mm f/8 pancake lens will be available for purchase in late June 2024. It will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of just $199.99.
