Parsippany, NJ—Ricoh Imaging Americas introduced the Ricoh GR III Diary edition special limited kit. The package features the Ricoh GR III premium compact camera with a metallic, warm-gray finish. Its grip rubber has a dark-brown finish, complementing the camera body.
Available in a limited quantity of 2,000 units worldwide, the GR III kit includes specially designed accessories. They include a leather finger strap, identical in color to the camera body; a ring cap and metallic hot shoe cover finished in a natural silver color; and a camera case made of unbleached sailcloth with a leather accent.
“The metallic appearance and surface texture were designed to reflect the camera’s reliability and quality, as well as to assure firm hold on the camera body,” noted Ricoh. “The finish also gives the camera an appearance that is it more than an imaging tool, with the warm color helping the camera blend more easily into daily life.”
Ricoh GR III Diary Edition
The special–edition point-and-shoot camera debuts a new image-control mode that provides a negative-film finishing touch. This new mode produces a balance between rich colors and the unique discoloration common in prints produced from negative film. What’s more, Ricoh will make this mode available for GR III and GR IIIx series models via firmware updates.
In addition, via a new feature, the Diary camera displays the number of images captured each day and the total number of recorded images. It also shows the firmware version just before its power is shut off.
Moreover, when the camera’s power is turned off, it displays an original shut-down screen. The new screen features the original, emboss-type product logo against a background harmonizing a fabric-like texture.
The camera’s other specifications are identical with those of the standard GR III camera model.
Furthermore, when mounted, the ring cap and metallic hot shoe cover, both finished in natural silver, are meant to accentuate the camera’s warm-color and enhance its sense of quality.
The leather finger strap, in a color complementing the camera’s finish, is an exclusive accessory for this limited-edition package. The case, made of unbleached sailcloth, is also included as an exclusive accessory. It comes with a leather belt that is identical to the finger strap. The sailcloth material was selected because its appearance will become richer with years of use.
The Ricoh GR III Diary edition special limited kit will be available this month only on the Ricoh Imaging website. It will retail for $1,149.95.
However, the Ricoh GR III Diary camera body—without the leather hand strap, ring cap, metallic hot shoe cover or the sailcloth case—is scheduled for a spring 2023 release.
