The five biggest trends to watch this year in consumer electronics are technology and privacy, the future of video distribution, mobile broadband and 4G, green technology and apps.
That's according to the Consumer Electronics Association (PDF link), which this week announced its annual Five Trends to Watch.
The trends were announced at the CEA Industry Forum in San Francisco.
“The technology industry is always changing, evolving and innovating, and this report provides crucial insight into the latest trends,” Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA, said as part of the announcement. “Using exclusive CEA market research, the trends highlighted in this report are revolutionizing our lives and impacting the marketplace.”
