Samsung Electronics announced Thursday that it will split the company into two divisions, one for components such as memory chips, and the other for consumer products, including televisions, phones and other gadgets. According to the Wall Street Journal executive Choi Gee-sung, currently head of the company’s phone business, will oversee the consumer divison.
The company’s CEO, Lee Yoon-woo, will oversee the components divison.
