Samsung and Sprint Announce New Green Phone


In celebration of Earth Day, Samsung and Sprint announced their second cooperative eco-friendly device–Samsung Restore. 

Available this summer, the Restore is 84 percent recyclable, meets RoHS standards and comes with Energy Star level V charger and no paper manual (it'll be online) in 70 percent post consumer packaging that is 100 percent recyclable. 

The device features Sprint One Click user interface with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and optical joystick, 2.0 MP camera and camcorder, MP3 player with microSD card slot (supports up to 32GB; 2GB card included) Bluetooth, access to Sprint Family Locator, Sprint Football Live, Sprint Navigation and Sprint TV(3).  

It also comes pre-loaded with Sprint's One Click Green tile–which gives users instant access to a collection of green, earth-friendly information and tips–and eco-oriented ringers and screensavers.  It will be released in in all Sprint retail channels for $49.99 with 2-yr contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
