The nation’s two leading industry groups for the retail industry have agreed to a merger. The National Retail Federation (NRF) and Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) said Tuesday that the decision by both groups’ executive committees was unanimous, and that the merger will go through by summer.
"This is an historic time for our industry.The challenges and opportunities before our members are unprecedented. Now is the right time to bring these associations together," the two groups’ chairmen said in a joint statement. Together, the combined association will represent 15 million industry workers.
