I don’t have to remind anyone that it’s been a harrowing couple of months, with devastating personal tragedies and business shutdowns. Along the way, we had to suspend the print edition of Digital Imaging Reporter due to business conditions; however, we did our best to keep our readers informed on our website, direporter.com. Now, it’s good to be back!

There is a hint of optimism in the air, as we all fight our way back to normalcy. As I’m sure it’s months away, we’re all hoping that everyone is still staying safe and smart. We also hope that all our businesses will soon be back to pre-Covid levels.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, our industry’s leading companies continue to introduce amazing new products, a number of which are featured on pages 6–7. We’re also anticipating that a strong recovery will follow. Products like these along with pent-up demand should fuel customer transactions in the coming months.

It’s Good to Be Back: Saluting Our E-tailer of the Year

Moreover, we’re pleased to honor Pixel Connection as our 2020 E-tailer of the Year. In this new environment we’re all enduring, Pixel Connection was able to create new opportunities. That’s because they were prepared to compete as an online retailer when it became necessary to do so. Congratulations to Rahul and his amazing team.

Looking forward, our October/November issue will include our annual State of the Industry report. It should certainly offer our readers an interesting snapshot of what’s to come in 2021. Further, we’d like to especially thank our advertisers for their continued support that enables us to do what we do—focus on the business of imaging.

Finally, we’d like to extend our sincere condolences to our senior writer, Jason Schneider. His daughter, Heidi, lost her long battle with cancer this month. Jason is a dear friend to our industry and an integral part of Digital Imaging Reporter. We are so saddened by his loss. Our thoughts are with his family.
