Melville, NY—Canon collaborated with studio automation equipment maker StyleShoots to bring the Canon EOS R full-frame mirrorless system to StyleShoots’ lineup of photography and video equipment. This will allow a global audience to capture millions of photos and terabytes of videos for fashion e-commerce.
“Canon’s EOS R, with fewer moving parts compared to a traditional DSLR-type camera, is perfect for our automated photography setups; where flawless continuous operation is essential,” said Anders Jorgensen, head of Product and Marketing for StyleShoots.
The Netherlands-based company worked closely with Canon’s teams for months. The goal was to integrate the EOS R camera into its line of automated robotic photo studio equipment. As a result, the full-frame mirrorless camera is controlled at the lowest level via an exclusive-access version of Canon’s EOS Digital SDK.
“Canon is the only camera provider with a strong heritage, a relevant hardware lineup and a powerful SDK allowing pro integrators like StyleShoots to change the content production landscape,” added Jorgensen. “By integrating Canon’s innovative EOS R lineup into our automated photography machines, our customers worldwide will be able to produce more content. And at higher quality, with even higher reliability and consistency.”
The Canon EOS R is a full-frame interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera with 30.3 megapixel resolution and 4K video capabilities.
StyleShoots designs and manufactures all-in-one photo machines for fashion and product photography for e-commerce purposes. E-commerce requires ever faster pace and also greater output quality, in both videos and photos. And, the company earned its place since launching their first products in 2011.
The company’s first product, StyleShoots Horizontal, helped revolutionize flat photography. Moreover, in 2013, StyleShoots Vertical brought the same technology to mannequin photography.
In addition, StyleShoots Live launched in 2017, redefining live model photography. The system captures lifestyle stills as well as video without a camera crew.
In 2018, the company launched Eclipse. The all-in-one automated machine produces cinematic, fully edited product videos in minutes, as well as crisp stills. The company’s products are the result of Dutch engineering and Danish design philosophy.
