“We’ve always envisioned that the Imaging Alliance board should represent a diverse view of the imaging industry,” said Jerry Grossman, executive director, the Imaging Alliance. “While having an experienced photo dealer like Moishe as our president will represent a strong voice from the retail business, Moishe is also a well-respected leader within the entire imaging community.

“Moreover, we are bringing the many facets of our industry together, from manufacturers and retailers to software developers, photo organization leaders and research experts. This will allow us to expand the purview of the Imaging Alliance to all facets of visual innovation.”

In addition to 28 companies represented on the organization’s board of directors, there are now 36 retail members. The most recent dealers to join include: Service Photo (Baltimore, MD); Dan’s Camera City (Allentown, PA); District Camera (Burke, VA); Art’s Cameras Plus (Waukesha, WI); Focus Camera (Brooklyn, NY); and Ace Photo (Falls Church, VA).

“We believe in a strong industry association that can serve all segments of photography consumers, from professionals to those interested in artistic expression and the preservation of their family memories,” said Appelbaum. “We also believe that the Imaging Alliance can bring a singular voice representing the entire imaging community to encourage consumers to engage in photography. I look forward to working together with the great companies represented on this board to grow our industry.”
