Melville, NY—Canon USA has partnered with the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) to produce a series of business webinars. The series is available to ASMP members.

Many visual creators have the talent and experience to create magnificent work; however, they are looking for training and guidance to develop stronger business skills to get their work noticed. Furthermore, business development is more of a challenge during the era of Covid-19; networking opportunities are limited. With that in mind, the new virtual seminars will provide members with the vital tools to help maintain and even build their businesses, despite current complications. ASMP-Logo business webinars

“Canon traces its roots to 1933; it has been serving photographers ever since at the cutting-edge where technology and art intersect. We’re proud to be a part of this journey with them; partnering to serve photographers in innovative ways during this time of big changes in our industry and our world,” said James Edmund Datri, ASMP chief executive officer.

Moreover, Canon and ASMP both feel strongly about supporting the business of photographers. ASMP is a leader in promoting photographers’ rights; providing education in better business practices; producing business publications for photographers; as well as helping to connect clients with professional photographers.

Canon values the work photographers do and is honored to be part of the process through which creators impact our culture. “Canon cameras are only as strong as the professionals who utilize them. We can create the technological advances, but it is the skill of the people behind the lens that creates the images that have changed the world,” said Tatsuro “Tony” Kano, executive vice president and general manager of Canon USA’s Imaging Technologies & Communications Group. “ASMP has been a vital piece of the photography profession since its founding in 1944; helping to guide those skilled artists through the gauntlet of the business world. As the world continues to evolve at an exponential pace, this partnership is a logical fit that benefits both of our organizations and the photography industry as a whole,” Kano added.
