The National Retail Federation on Thursday called on Congress to pass legislation in order to solve the current financial crisis.
“On behalf of the National Retail Federation and the entire retail industry, I urge you to put politics aside and support legislative efforts to provide stability and integrity to our financial system,” Tracy Mullin, NRF’s president and CEO, wrote in a letter to every member of the House and Senate Thursday. Mullin went on to call for quick passage of a solution, and framed the issue as “not just about Wall Street versus Main Street.”
As of Friday morning, Congress was still negotiating a bailout package.
