Rye, NY—Mitsubishi Paper Mill added EP Pearl Dual 200 to its portfolio of acidfree silver halide replacement digital media for both inkjet and liquid toner technology. Moreover, Mitsubishi coated the new paper with a special receiving layer to ensure strong toner adhesion and troublefree runnability in electrophotographic (EP) digital presses.

The pearl paper is currently available in 13×19-inch sheets. However, Mitsubishi Imaging plans to introduce a longer format sheet to accommodate premium panoramic layflat photo book applications.

What’s more, the paper’s surface has a smooth pearl sheen. In addition, it is an option for high-end photo book, photo cards and traditional portrait photography. Furthermore, EP Dual paper produces realistic skin tones, bright highlights and rich color densities for either full color or traditional blackandwhite imagery. In addition, the 200 gsm 8mil dualsided paper can be loaded in digital press cassettes for high production applications. It can run simplex as well as duplex at high speeds without jamming; this is an issue with other silver halide replacement offerings due to static. Also, after printing, operators can finish Mitsubishi’s new paper without it cracking when folded in the appropriate converting equipment.

“We are very pleased EP Pearl Dual 200 was qualified on Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress platform, including their new AccurioPress C14000 and C12000,” said Chris Hung, vice president, Sales and Strategic Planning, Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc.

“We are pleased to add Mitsubishi Paper Mill’s EP Pearl Dual 200 to our approved media guide,” added Dino Pagliarello, senior vice president, Product Management and Planning, Konica Minolta. “Moreover, we are a longtime global partner; so we know firsthand the excellent quality and reliability of Mitsubishi substrates. And we are confident recommending them to our customers for use on Konica Minolta devices.”
