We are delighted to report that a book on digital imaging penned by our own Laura Oles is up for one of USABookNews.com’s “Best Book 2006” Book Awards. USABookNews.com is an online magazine and review Web site for mainstream and independent publishing houses, and they recently announced that Oles’ “Digital Photography for Busy Women: How to Manage, Protect and Preserve Your Favorite Photos (Compass Trade Press, ISBN 0-9774727-2-8), was named a finalist in the photography category.

“I was extremely pleased to learn that Digital Photography for Busy Women

was named a finalist,” stated author Laura Oles. “So many women find

themselves with more technology than time these days, and if I’m able to

help them enjoy digital photography a bit more, I’ll consider it a great

success.”

Jeff Bowen, president of USABookNews.com, said of the title, “Digital

Photography for Busy Women is full of useful information that you will

reference again and again. Well-written and organized, you’ll want this book

in your library if you want to get the full benefits of your computer and

digital camera.”

Winners and finalists traversed the publishing landscape: Simon & Schuster,

Warner Books, New American Library a division of the Penguin Group, Red

Wheel Weiser and Conari, New World Library, and hundreds of independent

press titles contributed to this year’s outstanding BBA competition.
