Despite the housing slump, those buying new houses still want consumer electronics, and the CE industry will not be significantly affected, according to a survey released this week that was conducted by the Consumer Electronics Association.

The 2nd Annual New Home Buyers and Technology Purposes Study, conducted by CEA Market Research, also found that many buyers of newly constructed homes who did not make purposes of new technology regretted their decision. In addition, 82 percent of home technology buyers reported satisfaction with their installation services, a jump from 73 percent last year.

The survey can be obtained freely by CEA member companies, while it is available for non-members at www.ebrain.org/crs/crs_all.asp
