“The Wireless Pro boasts an unprecedented feature set not found in any microphone—let alone a compact wireless system—delivering next-level audio quality and unmatched versatility for today’s demanding creators and filmmakers. Taking the legacy of the legendary Wireless Go series to new heights, this is the ultimate wireless microphone,” the company announced.

Røde Wireless Pro Key Features

The new mic boasts Røde’s series IV 2.4GHz digital transmission and proprietary near-zero latency codec with 128-bit encryption. As a result, it can achieve clear, stable audio at up to an 850-foot line of sight. Moreover, the compact dual-channel wireless mic system comes with two transmitters and a receiver.

Further, it is universally compatible with cameras, smartphones, tablets, computers and other audio devices via an analog 3.5mm TRS and digital USB-C outputs. Plus, integrated clips and built-in omnidirectional microphones on the transmitters help make setup easy.

In addition, it offers 32-bit float onboard recording with 32GB internal memory for clip-free audio in any recording application. Consequently, you can record directly to the transmitters without audio clipping. What’s more, its internal memory allows more than 40 hours of onboard recording. Additionally, dedicated buttons on the transmitters make triggering recordings easier.

The system also employs Røde’s Intelligent GainAssist technology to enable flexible output gain control and a safety channel for clear audio when recording directly to a camera. The safety channel function outputs a second channel of audio 10dB lower than the primary channel in case the signal is too hot and clips the camera input.

Additional Features

Other features include locking 3.5mm lavalier connectors for security as well as plug-in power detection. Accordingly, the system automatically powers the unit on and off in sync with a connected camera to extend battery life in the field. It also features a flexible output control with a 30dB gain range available. This permits you to tailor the mic’s output to your camera. And preconfigured camera presets offer simplified setup.

Eliminating the need for external timecode systems, the Wireless Pro also embeds an internal timecode generator that synchronizes audio with any camera. You can set this up on a computer or smartphone via the Røde Central app, with configuration options for any recording setup. rode-wireless-pro-barangaroo-user-case-509A0847-8192×5464-v2-rgb-1920×1080-7f6ac6a

The 3.5mm output on the receiver also functions as a headphone output for audio monitoring (with onboard output level control) as well as an audio input for a headset or other TRRS “narrator” microphone, such as a lavalier. Thus, the system can record three audio channels simultaneously. Additional features include merged and split recording modes; marker dropping; and customizable buttons.

Despite its enhanced feature set, the Wireless Pro has the same pocket-sized form factor as the rest of Røde’s compact wireless range. Plus, it sports a new black-on-black aesthetic for discretion.

Wireless Pro Accessory Kit

The Wireless Pro comes with a pro accessory kit. It bundles the mic with a smart charge case that both protects the transmitters and receiver when in transit and ensures they are fully charged. Thus, it facilitates fast data transfer for exporting onboard recordings to a computer in the studio or in the field. Also in the kit are two Røde Lavalier II microphones and MagClip Go magnetic clips to mount the transmitters on talent or the receiver on a recording device.

Rounding out the kit components are three furry windshields for recording in windy conditions; all necessary cables for connecting to cameras, phones and other devices; as well as a carry case.

The Røde Wireless Pro system will retail for $399 when it’s released.
