Hauppauge, NY—Steadicam will host an event this month in New York City for the public to see what’s new from its camera stabilization systems. The company is making its two newest systems, the Steadimate-S and Steadicam M-2, available to test out. Steadicam is a division of the Tiffen Company. The Tiffen Steadicam Day is Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. EDT. It is located at Splashlight: 75 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013.

The Steadimate-S offers operators increased freedom, endurance and creative opportunity when working with single-handed motorized stabilizers. These include the DJI Ronin-S. “By pairing a single-handed stabilizer with a body-worn stabilizer, they can be operated for hours with minimal fatigue while maintaining a wide range of vertical movement and adding full panning ability and low-mode operation,” the company noted.

Moreover, the Steadicam M-2 features a new top stage to seamlessly integrate the Steadicam Volt horizontal stabilization technology. It allows for reduced weight and height, as well as a more simplified rig design. The Steadicam M-2 also expands the open architecture of the Steadicam M-1 with lighter weight components in a mix-and-match configurable system.

“Following the success of our Steadimate-S launch event last week in LA, we’re thrilled to be bringing a Steadicam demo day to New York; it will allow for operators of all interest levels to get hands on with the M-2, Steadimate-S and Steadicam Air,” said Andrew Tiffen, senior vice president, Tiffen.

Tiffen Steadicam Day Opportunities

Participants can test out the new, lighter Steadicam M-2 with integrated Volt electronics. They will see firsthand how the body-worn stabilizer is configurable in hundreds of different ways; as such, it is suitable in a multitude of shooting situations.

In addition, they will learn how the Steadimate-S can make operating single-handed stabilizers easier and more dynamic. The Steadimate-S pairs a traditional, lightweight Steadicam system with a single-handed stabilizer for more versatility in one package—starting at less than $1,000. Attendees also will experience how it reduces the bouncing image effect with handheld gimbals and helps to eliminate operator fatigue.
