Hauppauge, NY—Shortly after the launch of the Classic ND filter collection, Schneider-Kreuznach now introduces its brand-new Schneider-Kreuznach Diopter Spot cine filter line.
Schneider-Kreuznach Diopter Spot
The Diopter Spot is basically a classic diopter with a plain area in its center. Moreover, with the plain, polished area of either 25mm or 50mm in its center, this special filter type provides sharp images in the middle and an out-of-focus zone toward the edges of the frame. As a result, it can create dreamy images with an in-focus center that guides the eye of the viewer toward a designated area.
Further, the effect is controllable and reaches from subtle to strong. The effect depends on the diopter’s strength, the diameter of the plain area, as well as the used focal length. That is why Schneider-Kreuznach offers its spot diopters in six variants: plain areas of 25mm and 50mm combined with diopter strengths of either +1/2, +1 or +2.
What’s more, since they are produced as 138mm drop-in filter cells, the spot diopters are usable in compatible matte boxes. In addition, the filters are made in Germany. The company will make them available for sale starting August 2023.
