Valhalla, NY—Fujifilm North America Corporation, Imaging Division, launched the Fujifilm Instax Square SQ40 instant camera. The company also introduced a new Instax Square instant film variety. The new “Sunset” film features a variety of film borders with soft color gradients reminiscent of a sunset.
“Consumers love our Instax Mini 40 instant camera. So, expanding the line to also include a square-format option just made sense,” said Bing Liem, division president, Imaging Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation. “Not only can Instax fans now have another instant camera with a classic look, but they can also now enjoy the SQ40’s large, square image area.”
Fujifilm Instax Square SQ40 Key Features
The analog instant camera offers a new automatic exposure function. It automatically senses the level of ambient light when the shutter button is pressed. Subsequently, it optimizes the shutter speed and flash output according to the scene. In addition, it enables even novice Instax instant camera users to take photos that are automatically adjusted regardless of interior or exterior conditions.
Further, users can activate the selfie mode to take selfies and close-up shots by twisting the lens after powering on the SQ40. Fujifilm added this mode to make taking selfies and close-ups easy. Just rotate the lens of the SQ40 to switch to selfie mode; flip the camera to frame yourself in the selfie mirror and selfie away!
With a classic look, Fujifilm’s Instax Square SQ40 instant camera will have a suggested retail price of $149.95 when it reaches retail the end of June 2023.
Instax Square Sunset Film
Fujifilm also announced the new Instax Square “Sunset” instant film. The design of this new square-format instant film is inspired by the gentle gradation of the colors in the sky during a sunset. As with all Instax Square instant film varieties, Sunset is available in a single pack with 10 exposures.
The new Sunset instant film will also ship the end of June. The Instax Square film will have an SRP of $15.75.
Instax Mini EVO in Brown
In addition, Fujifilm introduced brown as a new color option for its Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO hybrid instant camera product line. Initially introduced in 2021 in a black camera body, the Mini EVO’s hybrid format combines traditional instant camera functionality with the capabilities of digital imaging technology. Using the Mini EVO, you can select, share as well as store specific images.
Paired with Instax Mini instant film, the Mini EVO creates prints directly from the camera. You can also print images from a paired smartphone camera roll using the Instax Mini EVO Smartphone app.
Fujifilm’s Instax Mini EVO hybrid instant camera in brown will have a suggested retail price of $199.95 when it is available for purchase the end of June 2023.
