Long Beach, CA—Røde issued an update on how MacOS Sonoma impacts its products. Moreover, according to today’s update, Apple has resolved this issue with the latest release (version 14.1) of macOS Sonoma.

“If you experienced any limitations when connecting an MFi-certified USB product to your Intel-based Mac, updating your operating system should resolve the issue,” Røde stated.

Further, according to the original article on the impact of MacOS Sonoma, a limitation was identified in Intel-based Mac devices running Sonoma. It affected compatibility with some MFi-certified USB audio devices (note: this does not include M1 and M2 Macs).

MFi, or “Made for iOS,” is a certification that denotes that an accessory was approved by Apple for use with its products. What’s more, many Røde products are MFi-certified and were affected by this limitation (along with audio devices from a wide range of other manufacturers). It caused compatibility issues and meant you could not likely use your Røde product with your device running MacOS Sonoma.

This included the following Røde products: Rode-Logo

  • AI-Micro
  • NT-USB+
  • PodMic USB
  • VideoMic GO II
  • VideoMic NTG
  • Wireless GO II
  • Wireless ME
  • Wireless PRO
  • RødeCaster Pro II (USB 2 only)
  • RødeCaster Duo (USB 2 only)

However, Røde escalated this issue to Apple, and they now confirm they have fixed the limitation with the latest v14.1 of Sonoma.
